HG 1/144 Zaku Warrior Live Concert Version
October 2, 2009MSIA MS-07B Gouf
October 1, 2009On sunday, I suddenly aqquired a Gouf. A cute little figure. My second premade Mobile Suit. First being my HCM Zaku. This Gouf, I first thought it was a little smaller than 1/144. But my Zaku Warrior Concert version is pretty much the same height as the Gouf, so I wonder what scale it is lol.
As figures go, it is properly lovely, not sure I could ever get one looking like this. My Sniper Zaku is probably the closest I’ve come so far lol. Awesome finish, brilliant posability, which I will demonstrate later in the post lol.
Gelgoog-otousan Complete
September 10, 2009Finished off using a dark grey Gundam Marker (GM38), grey artist brush pen(with lots of pigment in the ink), black 0.05 pigment pen and flat matt plastic varnish, or more commonly to gunpla makers, topcoat. Of course the dry transfers too, applied before the topcoat was, thougth that’d be best.
Gundam Markers GET!
September 9, 2009Last week I ordered me some Gundam Markers, the Zeon set from Gundam Mad*, seeing as Zeon’s rock most, obviously lol. And I gots em today! :woop!: When I looked to see what kinda nib it was I was like, ‘uwhaaaa?’ and had no clue what to do with em lol. But then I remembered the guide thing I found here, on Chubbybots blog. His tutorial on removing the nubs is brilliant too. Helped me no end. Though I still need to get some Tamiya Polishing Compound, no worries though, since I know where I can buy it online lol, since its illegal here hehe. More below the cut!! Go on, you know you want to!! lol
Tamiya Gets
September 6, 2009I went to a hobby shop situated right in the middle of Snetterton Market, Snetterton Park Model Shop. Its bloody huge! I wandered around for a bit before I found the stuff I wanted, was just to the left round the corner of the entrance. LOTS of Tamiya stuff, had every Tamiya Weathering set available! They had Tamiya sandpaper stuff too, I think it might be for use when wet… since its all in Japanese I can’t tell lol. The can of varnish I got yesterday, its matt finish and meant for plastic modelling, so it should be fine, but I’ll test it on a something to be sure.
Pricewise the weathering stuff was more expensive than it was on ebay or other places, but since I didn’t have to wait for shipping, its better, and worth the money. The varnish was £4-something, I still need the Tamiya Polishing Compound, BUT I found out thats illegal in Europe lol, apparantly we’re the only country thats stopped selling it though, rest of Europe still does. The UK’s such a goody-two-shoes…. Can still import though, not the end of the world.
