Because of the way these boys promoted before their debut, I got quite attached. Seeing manhwa on AKP don’t happen often lol. So it caught my eye to say the least. They’re named after their blood groups, 1 is type B, and the rest are A. That and ‘Be the one, All for one’ another meaning behind their name. And the pretty pretty comic below the cut D

This was too cute to be true. A band promoting using a comic??!! I don’t follow new groups generally, but B1A4 made me change my mind. And when the teaser for their song ‘OK’ came out. I was even more taken. By that point I’d already picked a favourite from the promo stuff, Shinwoo, or CNU. Jinyoung was almost first choice, when when I found out there was a member called Shinwoo, I knew he’d be my first choice lol. Weird to pick based on a name, but it was a good choice XD.

Such happy peppy music XD I listened to it on repeat for sooooo long, and the album came out, listened that over and over too. Hell, I even bought it. Me buying music is RARE. (Becoming less rare thanks to Kpop, all the freebies/special editions… too tempting lol)

After the MV, CNU was even more my favourite. Great voice. And Baro… overtook Jinyoung.

Why couldn’t all this stuff have been around when I was the right age for it lol? I hated boybands when I was little lol. Despised Boyzone and Westlife. I was all ‘Spice Girls ftw’ back then XD. None of them are super young at least, unlike Teen Top *shudder* jailbaity is the word that springs to mind XD

And and and…. their latest appearance on one of the many music shows. I flailed pretty hard while watching this XD

Their third music video, for the first promoted song on their second mini album, which came out last month. Also awesome. They’ve done really well for a rookie group too, high sales, big oversea’s following already, FlightB1A4 is 21st in the Kpop forum ranks for most members. And their fancafe has loads of members too, I’m a member too, but reading Korean… not my strong suit lol.

But yeah… Had to flail a bit… Will every now and then. Block B might be next… or BEAST… or 4Minute or HyunA. I dunno. Oh, for the boys who don’t give a crap about Kpop(if you got this far lol), you’ll give a crap about this video lol.

I remember reading some of the manga yeeeeaars ago on Spectrum Nexus. And thinking ‘My god this is gross!’. Yet I kept reading, I haven’t read it all by anime means, but I knew the basic premise. So when I noticed ‘Gantz‘ listed on Kenichi Matsuyama’s AMW, I was all ‘YAY!!’. I mean, anything of Matsuken’s is *YAY* but a movie based on a manga that I’d actually read. *Huzzah!* I waited over a year for this movie. From November 2009 to… well it was released in January in Japan, and America got special (dubbed lol but grrrr) showings, but I couldn’t see it until recently. I was interested to see if they could mirror the levels of goryness that the manga had. I’ve not seen the anime so I can’t comment on that, but the manga was super gory, and the chapter graphics were generally buxom ladies wearing part of the Gantz bondage suits. (Come on, you know they are, tight black PVC? You know it crossed your mind!!) The movie got them right. And the guns. Ohh the guns are cool.

Ok, before the cool guns, a very brief description/overview thingy for those who have no idea what Gantz is. Basically, you die/get into an accident, and wake up in the room with the black ball. Gantz transported a copy of you to the room at the moment of your death, from what I remember. And you have to fight aliens and get 100 points, and then pick something off the 100 point menu. What’s on the menu? Watch the movie/read the manga to find out . Other than that… hell I’ve probably said too much, but I did say spoilers lol.

They are very snazzy pieces of tech. Very cool.

Not seen any Gantz cosplay at cons before. I wonder why...

I’ve not read enough of the manga to know what the hell this guy is. I vaguely recall that he is Gantz, but it can’t be *that* simple, there’s gotta be some higher power. Not that any of that’s explained in the movie lol. Everything that happens in the movie, I remember reading in the manga, although, I didn’t read 8 volumes worth, so they must have skipped a lot to get to the last alien. Hell, I skipped a load too lol, I just hopped a few volumes when I came back to read it a couple of years ago, after I discovered it initially.

Wow… is that too dark? Or is it just my screen? You decide. Anyways. Gore is always best done for real. Like in The Thing. Still one of the grossest things I’ve ever seen to this day lol.

As was this I thought. And the last alien… gaaaaawd this boss went on for ages in the manga XD. Alot longer than it does in the movie lol.

This dude…. just… would not quit. It’s handled a little differently to the manga, which I was kinda disappointed at. BUT I’ve come to expect anime/live action version of manga to be a bit disappointing lol. Luckily I wasn’t as attached to this as I was, say, Death Note.

It was a good movie. The cast was good, although I think Kei Kurono should have been more badass/douchy. And they could have still been high school students, instead of bumping their ages up as movies/drama’s often do *sigh*. Kazunari Ninomiya is too nice/cute/normal to be the douchebag that is Kurono. I reeaaaally didn’t like Kurono in the manga lol. Matsuken was better as Kato, but still.. the hair was wrong… and other Kei (Kishimoto) should have had bigger cans. I had to say it. Least they were brave with the sideboob when she was getting zapped into the room at the beginning lol. I expected no nudity. Of course there was never going to be as much as there was in the manga lol. And the Yakuza boss dude didn’t try to attack her either. Just little inconsiquencial things though… not integral to the story lol.

Overall, I’m definitely looking forward to the next one, which is already available. So is the alternate version of the first movie actually, from a different characters POV.

Oh, one thing I missed, the head chips, no exploding heads or people trying to escape the vicinity, which is what I would have done in their shoes probably. RUN AWAY XD Or at least stayed out the way…

As I mentioned before, so far I’ve seen Persona 4, Un-Go, Ben-To, Guilty Crown and Kimi to Boku. I’m sure I’ll try a few others, like Mirai Nikki, when I get the chance. I’ve not even seen this weeks Castle yet, or Being Erica… but I’m writing for like 3 different websites now, including a new kpop blog D So being kept thoroughly busy :3 Onto the anime I say!! First up, Persona 4!!

Reeeaaally liking Persona 4, because of how similar to the game they’ve made it. All the day transition stuff, battle graphics, the music and even his skills chart, they’ve kept it all XD which is amazing! I wonder which clubs he’ll join in the anime… I went with Basketball and Music myself, and he better end up with Chie… not Yukiko… she always bugged me…

HOLD THE PRESS!! Why was I unaware of the Busou Shinki anime??!!!?? It wasn’t listed on the new season anime charts I’d seen before now, and I stumble upon this one! Seriously, I know they’re just shorts, but why wasn’t it listed on the other ones I’d looked at??? I mean seriously!? It’s making me wanna break out the old Shinki’s again XD

ANYWAY, back to new anime I’ve actually seen :3

I’d read that Kimi To Boku was basically reverse gender K-On! without the music on Something Awful, which made me just HAVE to try it ;P. And it pretty much is exactly that. It’s equally as fluffy, equally as slice-of-lifey, just minus the music. Now, I started out sceptical, but the opening theme is really nice XD and usually opening theme’s can hook me even if the show itself is naff. So I will be trying more of Kimi To Boku…

Now Un-Go, was just something we tried at one of our movie/TV nights. It was alright, but not sure how much I liked it. I liked the girls panda hat/paws thing, but then she kinda… grew… it was odd. It looks conspiracy-y/detective-y. And I didn’t finish Gosick, so I dunno if starting another one which I find similar is a good idea lol. Looked cool though, and the premise sounded cool. It might just be that it’s not for me lol. I just found this while looking for pictures… Ryo Katsuji, from Tokyo Dogs, is doing the lead character’s voice?!?!?! Instant re-evaluation needed XD And he was in Battle Royale 2 DX so was Yuma Ishigaki… of Gokusen/Hana Kimi/Azumi/13 Assassin fame. ARGGGG BR2 totally needs a rewatch sometime… but I only gots the first one… but Purplezest_ had the second one DX (You are witnessing the workings of a ‘Chain of  Flail’ right now, it’s like a giggle loop, only worse XD) And not only is Katsuji-san in it, Aki Toyasaki!! The lovely Yui!! Oh, and I had to include the Beauty and the Beast dress from the first episode XD. Alot like Belle’s, right??

Onwards!!

Now, for Guilty Crown. The one I’d heard numerous good things about prior to trying, I think mostly because of Supercell and I.G lol. But for the most part I’ve found them to be true. The animation looks awesome, the voice actor’s are good. (Tomoya Okazaki from Clannad is in it <3 Sort of instant-love XD I thought it might have been Kyon at first, but Tomoya is equally as awesome D) I watched the opening on MV because there was no low res enough download for a while, but even the stream was sticky. Not all of us have computers that can handle 720p!! 480p is more than good enough XD Luckily when I next checked, there was an AVI file out XD *huzzah*. The opening was really cool, a nice set up, kind of throwing you right into the action without any warning. Which I like. I’m a fan of confusion, if it’s too easy to predict, where’s the fun?

The song on the opening is really pretty too. By an in show group called ‘Egoist’ it seems. Watched episodes 1 & 2 so far, gotta say, very very very Code Geass-esque lol. From the robots/mecha used, to the government/terrorist stuff, there’s even a crazy prince-type character lol. But I like that. There’s also a little Elemental Gelade thrown in too, I feel. You’ll see what I mean when/if you see it. (Their suit things also bare a slight resemblence to NGE plug suits lol.) I’d recommend giving it a go at least though, because it’s well put together, shows promise and most of all, purdy graphics :3 Examples below :3

Now Ben-To was a wildcard/surprise addition to my list this season, we wanted something stupid/fanservicey to watch last night, and this was the choice, I was hoping for some eroge adaption actually, am in the mood for some stupid comedy fanservice lol. It was picked once again because of the Something Awful post about new season anime, which I’ll be consulting to find myself a suitable stupid fanservice-filled show, as they’re super derogatory of any anime adapted from an eroge, shouldn’t be hard lol. Anyway, Ben-To, seems to be about fighting for half price bento’s at a supermarket. Which seems like a stupid premise. As SA puts it “Silly shounen comedy show about intense fighting for supermarket bentos, or something.” BUT it surprised us by being not bad at all. And it even had some fanservice too. (The chick with blue/grey hair and red eyes totally looks like Rei right?? XD We all thought it when watching lol.) We found it weirdly entertaining for what it was. But the odd thing is, there’s some truth to the mad dash for the half price stuff in Japanese supermarkets isn’t there? I’ve seen it before elsewhere I think lol. Of course this show is a big exageration on that, but it’s fun. The animation’s good too. So I might actually end up seriously watching it lol. Few more pics because I likes em :3

I find it kind of odd the main male character is in the background of most of the pics I’ve found, or not present at all. But I spose it is shounen, so they’re selling it to boys, and cute anime girls work better for that lol.

I like the megane blonde, but I’m fairly certain she wasn’t in the first episode… not introduced at any rate…#

Last night I read Love Hina volume 1 again. Sadly online, because nearly all my manga’s at home. Apart from volume 3 of Cat Paradise I think lol. But yeah, Love Hina…

When I first read it I was 13 pretty much, so reading it with a much more innocent mind. Now I can see all the fanservice comedy stuff in a completely different light. Which hasn’t taken away from it’s enjoyment, it’s just… odd. Keitaro’s still a lovable moron, Naru’s still tsundere, Shinobu’s still jailbait, only I think back when I first read it, I didn’t use the term jailbait because, well, I was her age XD. Mitsune is still a predatorial drunk. Motoko’s still a cold kendo queen, but still one of my favourite characters lol. There are certain similarities we share, more now than before I thinks :3 Su’s still funny, but there’s not all that much of her in volume 1. I still remember the Love Hina dating sim on newgrounds fondly, which I shall now have to link XD. I spent god knows how long playing that game getting each girl XD

Looking back on it now I’m not sure if I should have been allowed to read Love Hina, or any of the 16+ manga I did back then. But I read Akira when I was 11… that’s probably worse… Actually… what’s worse? Possibly disturbing/gross imagery in Akira or over sexualised teen comedy in Love Hina? For a early teen I mean lol. Like alot of manga and anime, it was deceptively cute in design. I suppose the nudity was only half-drawn sort of thing, but still. I wonder what kind of impact it had on me lol. Would I have grown up as fangirly if I hadn’t read Love Hina, Chobits(probs more adult than Love Hina really lol, but written by women. *shrugs* I dunno… XD)? And by fangirly… well… if you’re on tumblr you’ll understand what I mean by ‘fangirly’…

In other news, I’m currently looking at new anime for the season. So far I’ve seen at least 1 episode of Persona 4, Un-Go, Ben-To, Guilty Crown and Kimi to Boku. I’ve got Mirai Nikki but have yet to watch in it’s entirity. But I shall see… My only problem is I have to finish Persona 4 in two weeks if I want to avoid spoilers in the anime DX.

My manga’s always sitting there in my room, gathering dust. I havent’t read any of my own manga in AGES, borrowed Bichi off a friend recently, but thats about it. I’m WAY behind on any anime too. It’s shameful. Got way too wrapped up in B1A4 & their paper idol image stuff(before they debuted they released a manhwa webcomic, which was enough to make me love em from the get go XD). Also Doctor Who, and London and movies, and right now Pottermore.

A few days ago I thought to myself, ‘I should read Love Hina again’ just because it caught my eye as I turned round, and because it was a brilliant series, classic in todays terms I should imagine. And it may give me inspiration for what I’m currently doing ;3 (Probably not what you’re thinking lol). But yeah, Love Hina. I’m gonna re-read it, and after each volume, post about what I thought, about how it may or may not have aged. Ken Akamatsu’s style seems to be pretty consistant at least, going by Negima. Granted I’m only on…volume… 17? 18? I own 16 volumes though XD.

So. Yeah. Love Hina. I remember reading the blurb on the back about it being a ‘teen sex comedy’ I think XD. It may have some similarities with movies like American Pie, but not crazily close ones lol.

And the good thing bout manga, takes bout half an hour to read usually, sometimes less. Tis usually why I brought more than one with me to school when I did, because one was never enough and I ended up re-reading XD.

Expect the first post forthwith. And I am sorry for the *counts* 4 month hiatus o___o I missed bloggies 3rd birthday, and it hitting 250k hits too I think. It’s on 274k now XD… makes me feel bad… I’d blame Twitter and Tumblr and forums, but thats not right, been doing other stuff too. And it’s probably mostly down to laziness… Sorry…

(Ooooo side thought… live action Love Hina drama XD I can’t imagine it happening, Ouran yes, (thank god) but Love Hina… content wise XD not so much.)

I’ll start off by saying, my little brother picked this. He likes guns, loli’s and action. All of which Hidan no Aria has, wrapped up in neat little not-to-fanservicey package. Which is also great, because he’s only 13 XD I don’t want him exposed to the kind of thing I was at the same age. I’d already read Chobits by his age. And was working my way through Love Hina & other stuff. I know the Tokyopop age rating was only a rough guide, but they were selling me Chobits when I was 12, & it was marked 16+ XD. I was tall for my age though… STILL. My little broseph can wait. He’s seen anime based on eroge/VN’s as it is lol. Non-ecchi ones though :3

Also, he loves Shakugan no Shana, even bought the DVD boxset(go him!!). So we both noticed the similarity to Shakugan no Shana lol. It’s basically the same thing, only Aria has guns+swords instead of magic+swords XD. (He also loves 24, so lots of guns/violence/chases etc, he loves it XD) We checked afterwards for voice actors and both lol’d at the fact Shana’s seiyuu is voicing Aria XD.

There seems to be alot of *almost* pantsu shots. I wonder if they’ll ever go the whole hog and have a pantsu shot, I don’t mind. I’m happy they haven’t to be honest lol.

My view of the show… its good. It might not be my thing, but if I’m watching with my little bro I’ll probably grow to like it more. I think he’ll be distracted by the girl with the short blue/green hair in the pic above. She reminds me of Yuki Nagato. And he loves Yuki Nagato lol. He seems to go for the quiet, bookish, quite flat chested anime girls, opposed to the overtly moe or super tsundere(like Nagisa, Mikura, Haruhi or Tomoyo, 3 of the 4 have fairly sizable jubblies I think you’ll agree too? XD). I think he likes Hidan no Aria because its about a school where they teach students how to be Jack Bauer, basically. And he’s his hero(right now LOL).

The amber eyed strong silent type(I’d bet). She hasn’t been properly introduced yet, so I could be completely off haha. Oh, the black haired chick with the rack, from the top pic, far left, you can’t see much of her, but I SWEAR she’s evil… I don’t really know my reasoning behind it, there were just a few things in the first two eps. There were other things that made me think otherwise, but I’m gonna go with ‘evil’ on this one. I was right about Kyubey from the get go after all… XD

Oh lookie, she’s all wet, how awful that must be for her. *rolls eyes* XD Enjoy. More Zettai Ryouiki which I always have to look up the spelling for because I can never remember exactly XD So. I really am just watching because of my little brother, I’ll have to download it after I go back to uni, since he’s not allowed to at home, so we’ll just have to bulk watch when I’m back for the summer I spose. Did with Angel Beats. The other anime this reminds me of. School+guns/weapons+violence probably XD.

The lovely Ui <3

It’s those eyes. The blue with green. It’s not that common to do that with (optical)eyes. And I LOVE Feng’s artwork. It’s too cute. Theres that figure in the polkadot bikini I still want. I think I like Ui because facially they’re quite similar, hair colour isn’t dissimilar too. And both have a cute hair decoration. So yeah, I’ve fell for the main chara in just the first ep XD, the ditzy, stereotypically moe girl, so what? They’re meant to be appealing!! I don’t mind moe, I get that theres been WAY too much of it recently, but it honestly doesn’t bother me lol, I simply don’t want much of the moe-driven anime. But when certain character designs attract my attention, I give them a chance at least.

I’m 2 episodes into Hoshizora, enjoying it, its mindless kinda fluff, but the very beginning of ep 1 reminded me of the beginning of Harvest Moon: Back to Nature. (Skip about 2:30 into the vid to see what I’m referring to if you like :3)

It’s just the whole sepia, childhood memory thing mainly I think, since the actual meeting isn’t seen in Hoshizora lol (I know the songs the little girls singing has stuck with me FOREVER though. Hell, I even worked it out on Animal Crossing to be my town tune on Gamecube years ago too XD.) Anyhoo. Hoshizora. Seems fairly typical so far. As eroge-to-anime titles go at least. I’ve seen a fair few lol, H20 being one of my favourites, amongst quite a few others which I won’t bother mentioning lol. The animation is pretty good, and its very pretty, even if the animation was naff, its prettiness would be an incentive to keep watching.

The little shota bro….. don’t know what to make of him. Not a huge fan of shota, yet I sat through Kanokon in its entirely. In sort of a dazed stupor I think XD. So much ecchi, so much shota… yet…. it compelled me to finish it XD I can’t defend my actions…. nor explain them haha.

The blonde’s(names evade me right now, am about to watch the 3rd episode, later tonight, I only remember Ui’s name XD) rack is too big. Otherwise I like her design. I don’t like the tsundere one with white hair… and I dunno bout the shrine maiden from the end of ep 2 yet… though if she gets in the way for Ui…. grrr…. I don’t wanna spoil anything, not that there’s really much to spoil, you can probably guess the plot when its this kind of formulaic pap. But nice pap. Like Grey’s Anatomy or Desperate Housewives(or other pap you might actually admit to watching ;D). You know its trash, yet you still find yourself watching. Hands up who’s guilty of that then huh? XD

Only got two photo’s of the interior, because we apparently arn’t allowed to take pics even before the actual performance. What the hell… But it was awesome. There will be more of a report soon. From left to right; Seungri, Daesung, TOP, Taeyang, G Dragon. Daesung’s my favourite, he’s got the best voice of the group in my opinion. GD & TOP do rapping mostly, though they all do both, but Daesung’s voice is so strong he doesn’t get enough attention in the songs. Tis very easy to spot the bits he does though haha.

(And because there are only 5 of them remembering names is less of an issue than it is with say, Super Junior or Dalmatian.)

And since the solid thing itself is only about $11 and the UK iTunes download is £5 or so, I’ll just wait :3
