I did a little look into who won last years ISML, and it seems that Fate Testarossa came first and won the ‘Heavenly Tiara’.
I personally don’t see the appeal…. but I haven’t seen much of the series she’s from, Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha? Only this is the next series, when they’re not all loli lol. I’m glad that Kotomi-chan came 5th though. Top 16 below.
I’m glad that 4 Key girls got in, 3 Clannad’s and 1 Kanon. Not my choice of Kanon girl… much prefer Makoto or Ayu, but maybe they’ll get higher this year.
Any die-hard Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS/A’s fans reading this? I remember watching 1 episode, not even a full ep, and being distracted by something else, I know I should try again, cos it looks cute, and like something I might like. But I only got so much space on my ex HD…. I need a Terrabyte next time I get a new ex HD….
Anyways, this was for those who might have been wondering about last years winner. The International Saimoe league is different, I assume from the Saimoe Japan, Korea and other countries. I wasn’t aware that there was one for the UK… but I could be wrong lol.

@M-chan: Hehe, I still don’t get this “Saimoe” thing-a-ma-jig, International or Japan or otherwise, lol… Seems like a waste of time. But, hmmm, maybe if it dealt with figures instead, I might be more interested. Wanna start a Figure League? ^o^;

Can’t say I’m much of a Fate fan either, she seems kinda overrated imo, but then again I’ve never bothered to watch the show.

While Fate is indeed a it overrated, she is often highly preferred by the male fans (more charismatic I believe) ^^;;
The original Nanoha series is like a very typical mahou shoujo show, but A’s does have the merit for good pace and an interesting story (interesting enough for me who usually won’t touch this kind of genre at all). I’m not sure about StrikerS as I haven’t watched it, but I know that it’s not as well accepted as its prequel.

Ugh…I tried to watch Nanoha once; ended up banding my head against the world in an effort to forget I ever watched it >_>
Nonetheless, Yuki coming in 2nd pleases me, for she is the only Haruhi character that doesn’t piss me off.
On the other hand, Ibis’ utter absence in last year’s top 16 fills me with murderous rage.

@M-chan: Hehe, thanx! But I don’t remember Tomoko that well, hmmm. Was she in the “TH – Memories” sequel? Don’t remember her there either, lol.
Haha, I never said “International”, but why not? Although maybe start out smaller… Categories? Well, we could start with just 1/8th PVCs first. Well, we don’t have to choose *hundreds* of figures, lol. If anything, we ask readers to suggest a bunch, then compile a list of 32 or 64, etc. Then again, how is the actual “Saimoe” organized? How do they choose contestants?

@M-chan: Ahh, I see. Maybe that’s why I didn’t recognize her. She was in “Clark Kent” mode! I might have to check “To Heart” again. Erm, maybe, lol.
Haha, yeah, hundreds would be too monstrous. Then again, according to Wiki, the actual “Saimoe” starts out with thousands! Thousands! With two rounds before the actual tournament, lol. Yeah, for the “Figure Tournament”, after an initial round of ranked nominations, the top 32-or-64 should be enough. Maybe a few wildcard spots. Simpler to construct, eh?

@M-chan: Hehe, here’s my comment on the “Figure League” blog…
“LOL, damn, that was fast! I’ll take a closer peek at this later today or tonight, I hope… But my first quick thought is, I’d rather keep the scales separate, because the detail of a 1/6th could easily outweigh the detail of a 1/8th, right?”
P.S. Maybe I missed something. But how did u go from 6 figures in Round 3, to 8 figures in Round 4? Where did the other 2 figures come from?
February 18, 2009 at 7:56 pm |
@M-chan: Hahaha, which logic? Blog worth? Hehe, sorry about that! Or wait, did u mean my question about Round 3 to Round 4? Did I overlook the numbers?… But you’re right, 1/8th and 1/7th should be fine. I think the manufacturers are just as confused about that anyway, lol. ^o^

Sweet, my favorite Nanoha girl won! 🙂 That’s a nice list of top girls too, really surprised Suigintou made it on the list as well. I did like Mai, but Ayu or Makoto should have gotten the last spot.

@M-chan: Haha, no worries. I’m not crazy after all! But like u mentioned, I guess I seem to have a knack for being too “logical”. A nice balance for my being too “imaginative”, lol… P.S. Hehehe, hmm, some “supernatural Ackles snackage”? Now say *that* three times fast, lol. ^_~

Fate’s exceptionally moe. Don’t listen to all the haters who havn’t even watched the series. Which is like everyone that commented but one..

fate is god.

When I watched the first season, I wasn’t that impressed. “Its terrible, how can people like this show?” was what I was thinking. When Fate appeared, things became more interesting. The action was superb too. I thought she was cool but I still didn’t understand why people loves her to the point of worshipping her. After watching the second season, Nanoha A’s, I finally understood and came to a conclusion.
Fate is the very definition of moe.
