Shirley Appears!

The Alpha X Omega Shirley Fenette is a figure I’ve wanted ever since seeing the prototypes in August last year. Then when the painted versions were shown in September at Chara Hobby 2008, and I wanted her even more.(Seemed more folks wanted Kallen though… not enough love for Shirley…) And I only ever devote blog posts to figures I really-really want. Like I did here.

Today. I got her. While she was on sale in the last couple of weeks at HS. And looks like I did it just at the right time… cos she’s gone back up in price!!! I got her for 4000 yen, instead of 5500 or 5800 lol. SO very glad I did now… due to the fact she ain’t available in the UK…. so very annoying… I am gonna wait till the 4leaves Tamaki is available in the UK in July. Just to avoid any charge by the bitches at Parcel Force…

(Very alarmingly, I found that the drink isn’t stuck onto the tray… which means even a little wobble, could knock them off. I’ve learnt already…) Ahhhhhh so pretty. Had waited for so long… and I’m uber-glad she wasn’t one of the mega popular figures that sell out during pre-orders. Otherwise odds are I never would have got her.

Pretty box. Me likee the style. She was in fact my first order from Hobby Search. Mainly cos I was unaware of the fact they accepted debit cards. Since when I emailed asking if they did some time ago… they said they didn’t.

All the plastic that was wrapped round her. Not including the stuff behind her, there was bubble wrap too.

It was really strangely wrapped too lol, very safe and secure though, which I’m very glad of. I was terrified about getting the coat off her shoulders to unwrap it. Putting it back on was scary too.. You have to bend it…and the twintails to get it on and off…. I always knew I wanted to display her without the coat anyways, so I’m ok lol.

This is, I think…the first 1/8th figure I own thats a character designed by Clamp. Which is a big shame, since I love Clamp to bits… There arn’t enough figures based on Clamp designs. And if there are, they’re mini figures.

Theres no denying the jacket on is cute. But its a mega-bitch to get on and off. Therefore, my afformentioned choice to leave it off, was a good plan lol.

Opened the curtain and tried to use a pic of the Clannad classroom as a background. Did not work well lol. Screen is FAR too shiney lol.

Lighting is definately better though lol. Daylight is gooooood. (But not for too long…)

Thats where she's sitting for the moment, curtain ain't open anymore though. I just have to figure out, where on the shelf she'll go...

I thinks… Shirley has the second best legs of my collection. Chie still holds first place. Fauna, Lucy, Tamaki and Nono are all in competition for third. It’s probably a tie between Fauna and Tamaki… But seriously. Shirley’s leggies are mighty fine. Kudos to the sculpter.

I wouldn’t usually go for the figures just wearing a swimsuit or bunny outfit or something similar. But Shirley was just so pretty… even before I’d seen Code Geass, I knew I wanted it. Watching it just strengthened my resolve, cos I then knew about how lovely her character was.

Anyways. That be it for now. Going to get me some noodles now. Me hungee.
