Jdrama is only usually watched one day a week. Saturday nights. With pizza and Supernatural. In just a year, me and my flatmate Purplezest, have managed to get through like 16-17 drama’s. I think… I may be counting the ones I’ve seen solo too… Like Majo Saiban… but still. Tis an impressive number after getting into Jdrama just a year or so ago. Love the fanservice aimed at girls in alot of the drama’s too, tis a nice change from all the male orientated fanservice in anime lol.
We have 3 on the go at all times too. Currently we’re on the final series of Gokusen (3) *sob* (will be so weird when theres no more to watch…), Atashinchi no Danshi and Hana Yori Dango.

The main 6 characters of 3D. Miura Haruma (third from left) and Ishiguro Hideo (second from right) have been my favourites of this series.
Gokusen 3 has been awesome, and I kinda hope they make a 4th one, but I got no idea if they will… I’m not sure which I prefer out of Gokusen and Rookies now, as the whole delinquent theme is very present in both, but Gokusen came first…hmmmm…. I think Rookies is still slightly ahead, cos it was one of the first I saw… Though Yankumi does kick ass.

Horikita Maki and Mukai Osamu. (Mukai was the reason I found this series.) Maki is appearing in more and more lol, she was main in Hana Kimi too. Very good in it.
Atashinchi no Danshi feels… average… but the presence of certain actors continue to make it compelling enough to watch. Its certainly not the best Jdrama I’ve seen. I think we’ve been fairly lucky so far, in that we’ve not picked any major duds lol.
Hana Yori Dango is one I’ve known about for yonks(partly because of the op theme I think), from before I started watching lots of Jdrama, but never found it that appealing. The story or the actors in the roles. But after watching Hana Kimi, I came to appreciate Oguri Shun. Likewise with Gokusen s1, I finally came to appreciate Jun Matsumoto, cos even Bambino! didn’t make me like him that much lol. Of course, I tried watching Hana Yori Dango in the last year, but there were so many mean people in it I gave up not even one episode in lol. Watching it properly now, I was right, F4 are pretty damn douchy, bar Rui(Oguri Shun’s chara), BUT Tsukasa(Matsujun’s character)… total A-grade douche… majorly tsun. BUT, by ep 3, his dere side has shown. Just like with Oguri Shun’s chara in Hana Kimi. And I can’t help going ‘Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww‘ at him XD Right now its 50/50 Rui/Tsukasa… but if Rui continues on the path he’s on, and Tsukasa gets more and more dere… I may be leaning more towards Tsukasa, which I didn’t wanna do XD
Not sure what we’re watching after Gokusen is done and dusted… we have plenty in stock though lol. Watching ‘You’re Beautiful’ (Kdrama) at the moment, not regularly, just when I want, its a really cute series. Kinda Hana Kimi in plot. Crossdressing situations and all. But I’m loving it lol.
Righto… Days out next I think 😀

I laughed as I read how you couldn’t get through the first episode of HYD because there were so many mean people. LOL. HYD grew on me and has become one of my favorite dramas along with Gokusen. I really adored the cast of the third season of Gokusen. I’ve been trying to get into K-dramas but it’s hard…

Most of the K-drama’s I’ve tried haven’t been nearly as much fun as the J-drama… and lol… I’ve fallen more and more for Tsukasa with each episode XD damn the tsundere charms XD
