Autumn Season TV – Constantine (Spoilers)

I’m trying quite a few of the new season shows. Things like Scorpion and Gotham have already dug their heels in and are on my list for as long as they air. But there are plenty of other shows I’m still undecided on, and some I love unconditionally, but don’t see lasting. T-T Yesterday we tried Constantine.

So this is the guy playing Constantine. I think this guy looks better with brown hair.

So this is based on the DC comic. Like the movie was meant to be. BUT alot of people didn’t like the movie. I didn’t mind it. But I know it wasn’t very close to the comic. Though I don’t know if this TV version by NBC will be either, having not read the comic. BUT I am told he smokes like a chimney, and in this first episode, you only see him smoking once. Might be for the same reason that smoking was cut out of One Piece. OR the actor playing Constantine, Matt Ryan, is an ex-smoker and doesn’t wanna risk adopting the nasty habit again.
I can sense it’s going to be a demon/monster of the week affair. The possessed humans are pretty creepy… and the one shot of her Liv’s grandma made em jump/cover my face. I don’t like creepy… The special effects are pretty decent, in my opinion. But it’s only the first episode. It starts off him in a mental asylum, in Northern England. Which he admitted himself to, trying to forget something that later on we’ll find out about.

Lucy Griffiths as Liv in the first episode. Not sure if she’ll be recurring. But daaaayumn she looks different from Robin Hood.

I was also happy to see Jeremy Davies and Harold Perrineau in it, of Lost fame. I’m kinda sad that it looks like Liv won’t be back(she was sort of scared off on purpose), but according to IMDB, there’s some character called ‘Zed’ who’s listed as being in more episodes. And Chas. I mean wth. I knew Chas as Shia La Beouf. Before he went a bit cray. But this Chas is older, and apparently immortal? Or he can heal? Not explained yet. I mean he got impaled by a demonic power line…

It’s not the most fantastic thing on TV by any means. But it’s not bad. It’s worth a second look, my my/our opinion anyway. We hope to see more smoking.

I can’t see this lasting long anyway. If NBC have anything to do with it. They always end up cancelling anything I show any interest in. So maybe if I don’t watch it, it’ll survive past one season?
