Himekuri Girl – Bianca – Photo-Review

September 19, 2008

The second of the 3 pvc figures I bought last tuesday. One I was very glad to finally be able to own. I would have been happy with either version, white or black.

This is Bianca. The white variant of the two Himekuri girls. I missed my chance of getting her at expo, a rule I made after that occasion, you see a figure for £10 or less, you buy it. You just go for it and buy it!!! Bianca is 1/7th scale, dressed in a revealing, yet adourable outfit, sitting on the floor, lifting the front of her skirt. I’m not big on the skirt-lifting thing, but for the price and quality of this figure, I’m gladly willing to overlook it.

The level of detail on this figure is quite astonishing, considering the price, and it was lower than most figures even before the later discounts, at 3800 yen a pop. (£20 or $36, thats uber-cheap compared to most I’ve bought.) The white Bianca version was released April 06, after the original black version released December 05, and finally a christmas colour edition was released December 06. I never could decide which out of the white or black I liked better… they both have pros and cons lol. But I’m sure both have the fantastic sculpt and very accomplished paintwork. I have to say it is one of the highest quality paint jobs in my collection, the detail on the clothing is so awesome!! The only bit which lets it down is the hair decoration, the big colourful thing hanging round her hair, that could have been slightly better, if it were, then it probably would be as near perfect as a paintjob could come. The sculpt, also awesome, they even sculpted the eyes a little too!! I love that! Not quite sure why, but it works well. The eyes are so cute!! There are some mould-lines on her right leg, but nothing really noticable. She’s just so pretty!! And the hair!! Very nice job joining it so it can’t be noticed unless you really look closely. Her hairs so thick and lovely too!! Very big at the back of her head, back-combed maybe?

The folds of the skirt are really nicely done too. Such a lovely figure… Apart from the skirt lifting…. lol. And no, no pantsu shots!! I’m not quite sure why though, I should know that you will want them…. silly me… I did take one, but it was a bit fuzzy… so it ain’t included. Another good thing about this figure is she needs no base, although I’m slightly worried about the bottom getting dirty… I would have prefered a flat base like you get with Sana Horiuchi. And Bianca feels assuringly hefty, I know the skirt and hair will add weight, but heavy things are usually better quality. Like with alot of technology. Flimsy-ass mp3 players will just not do…

Serio will be my last figure review, posting tomorrow. And I may do a quick thing on my Busou Shinki, although I’m getting more figures tomorrow… and packing for uni…. and on sunday… I might not be able to post anything… or get online…. depends what connection I have in my room… because my stupid modern laptop is too modern to have an ethernet slot…. it only works wirelessly!!! Who’s stupid idea was that???!!! Anyways…. laptop rant over… getting a shiney new computer next week. 4gb’s of ram, 6mb cache amoung other things. Ciao for now!!

Sorry for the crappy pic... tis better than the other one I could have used lol.

I went to one of my local game/figure places today, expecting just Busou Shinki’s, like my brother told me. And I was totally gobsmacked when I found a gold mine of figures!!! And a good few rare ones too!! I never even knew they made a Shion/Mion figure before today… and pretty much all these figures, Bome’s, Kotobukiya’s etc, were all £10($20) or under!!!! I was sad they didnt have all the Busou Shinki’s my bro said were there, I wanted the angel too, aswell as the devil type. But the other figures more than made up for it!! I only spent £36($72) aswell…. wish I could have spent more… but I was controlling myself, so I only bought Serio from To Heart, and left Akari….:sniff: But I got Himekuri girl finally!! (The white one, would have gotten either.) Only £8($16) for her!! The Busou Shinki Devil Strarf was just £8, and the Mion/Shion(with two backs of hair.) was only £10 too!!! GAH I felt so lucky….

Prices(for those who dont want to read the whole rant lol)
Kotobukiya Serio (To Heart) – £10($20)
Konami MMS Busou Shinki Strarf Devil – £8($16)
Kaiyodo Himekuri Girl – £8
MegaHouse Sonozaki Shion/Mion (Higurashi no naka koro ni) – £10

There was also several Bome figures, the Kiddy Grade Twin pack, Full Metal Panic(twin set?) And there were 4 different kinds of Gundam figures, 3 girls and one guy, Meer Cambell was one of them. (Not familiar with the Gundam universe…. Might have been 00…) So much awesome stuff… there were three To Heart figures actually… Serio’s sister(?) was there too. There were some mecha revoltech and gunpla too. But no Gelgoog, so no deal…

(I’m sorry, but I had to rant, it was like the expo!! So many goodies!!!)
(The local figure and game place in question, which usually does not sell this kinda stuff, just final fantasy, star wars, dr who, wrestling, other cult stuff, is called Toyz and Gamez. They have an amazon.co.uk marketplace shop tool.)

(I know… I posted this as a news item… but I wrote so much in my rant I’m reusing it. Waste not – want not lol.) I will take pics of new goodies once the camera is charged. (I have to go fetch the charger first…:sigh: So lazy…)
