Hestia is bestia – 1/8th scale Kotobukiya figure

June 8, 2016

hestia3

A few months ago I was lucky enough to snag this beauty during a sale on Hobbysearch, she’s now sold out on there too sadly. Their most recent sale prompted me to post this photo’s I took a while ago. Because there were more Hestia’s in this new sale… the Genco mount one, with the pillow(now sold out since this morning), and a Cu-Poche one. There’s one other, but that one didn’t tempt me. However I now have 2 more Hestia’s on the way…….. I think I have a problem… Many many photo’s below the cut…

Matcha the right way ~ Matcha Factory & other things

April 9, 2016
matcha powder2

This is the Grape Tree’s Matcha, it’s been sifted so it’ll mix better :3

So thanks to my favourite sushi restaurant’s particular choice of green tea, I’ve been on a green tea bender. I asked them where they got their kind from and they told me, Costco. So of course I went on a googling spree. I found out that it was a green tea-matcha blend. Which is probably why it was the greenest green tea I’ve had in a while. It’s the Kirkland brand, which I couldn’t order direct from Costco, so I ordered from Amazon. The day it arrived I decided to wander round town to see if there was any pure matcha on it’s own. Found 2 places near where I worked, one was a weird blend, and one was pure matcha. £6.99 for 30g from Grape Tree in Sutton Coldfield, probably some of the cheapest I’ve seen online or offline. I can  only think of one website that has it cheaper. And of course, I’ve done my research now.

Dagashi Kashi – Genius product placement.

Saya-chan is best girl.

Saya-chan is best girl.

So I fell victim to this show and it’s blatant snack advertising and ordered one of the JList/JBox sample sets, Best $12 I ever spent. As well as the extra Konpeito I ordered. But $12 for essentially a sort-of surprise bag of weird and wondrful Japanese snacks. Some of which I know, some of which I don’t, all of which I wanted to try however. Thanks to Dagashi Kashi. (Stupid show.)

Moekana 5 a day – U Ka Chi To Tsu

September 21, 2014

u ka chi to tsu

Todays moekana are U, Ka, Chi, To and Tsu.

う ウ U
か カ Ka
ち チ Chi
と ト To
つ ツ Tsu

So this selection… I can think of less words…

Chichi – Father, or slang for breasts? If DBZ is anything to go by XD

Some words I don’t know. This bunch was harder for words I already knew… Need a wider mix 🙂

Kachi かち – Wins
Kau かう – Buy/Purchase
Tochi とち – Horse chestnut
Toukatsu とうかつ – Supervising
Uchi うち – Out

My Moekana 5 a day – Ku Su Se Ki Shi

September 20, 2014

ku su se ki shi

So todays moekana are ku, su, se, ki and shi.

く ク ku
す ス su
せ セ se
き キ ki
し シ shi

Instantly I think ‘shiki’ which is vampire, in that anime series ‘Shiki’, but just means expression, or formula or ceremony?? D: And ‘suki’ which is like, and obviously ‘sushi’. So so far we got…

Shiki しき- Expression, formula or ceremony o_O
Suki すき- Like
Sushi すき- Sushi :3
Kiseki きせき- Miracle! I know this cos of ‘Clamp no Kiseki’ XD

Those are the only words I truly knew before… these are some I didn’t really 🙂

Kushi くし- Skewer, for like, BBQing stuff I think.
Seki せき- Place or seat.
Kishi きし- means Dejavu, which is pretty damn cool.
Kiku きく- Listen (that’s not what Navi says in Zelda all the time is it? Or does it just say ‘Listen’ in every language?)
Kiki きき- Equipment? Device?? I only knew it as a name XD
Shishi しし- is a Chinese guardian lion… and a place name. But it’s a Lion protector in Japanese Buddhism and Shintoism which I think is pretty cool.

I’m gonna leave it there. Cos I’ll be clutching at straws lol. I need to find my Japanese dictionary…
