Otaku? (+ some not-so-random bishies)

Now, I thought ‘otaku’ was just a word for someone who is obsessed with something, yes it’s more commonly connected to anime/manga etc, but thats not the proper-proper use, is it? In Japanese its a word for someone with an obsession for a certain area(there are other meanings I’m aware of too, its also a suffix like -san/-dono/-chan etc which I wasn’t as aware of lol), but some still want to use it just for anime/manga/eroge obsessions. After becoming a fan of anime/manga when I was 13(I think…) I wasn’t really aware of the use of otaku at all, why would I be? I live in a country that once wrote off most Japanese cartoons as pornographic thanks to Urotsukidoji lol. That was then though, this is now. Much more accepting of it… I think lol.
I’ve always been… easy to get obsessed with something, when I was ickle, it was Dalmatians, thanks to 101 Dalmatians. Favourite Disney movie of all time, and will remain that way, for mostly sentimental reasons I think lol. But that lasted with me, and still is with me now really, until I was 9 or so, when Pokemon arrived, and Pokemon is still with me now lol, can’t wait for Soul Silver to come out!! Am soooo tempted to import… even though there’s only a couple of weeks in between US & UK releases… still seems unfair that we have to wait…

Romeo X Juliet Episode 1 & other musings

After getting the SFX magazine today, and it having a disc of 3 eps of anime on(sadly dubbed only, not even any subs for the op/ed themes…), gave me a chance to finally watch (the 1st ep at least, of the) Romeo&Juliet anime. When they say ‘based on’ its taken *very* loosely lol. Pegasus’s, fine. But masked crossdressing town heroes like Marian in the BBC Robin Hood? lol. And the Japanese version of ‘You Raise Me Up’ made me lol too.  Animations all nice though. Gonzo standard(?) This is being written while I watch lol, as dubbed makes it easier to multitask haha.

Lucifer is Coming – Viva la Minionlution – Living TV’s Supernatural ARG Has begun!

The Supernatural ARG game has BEGUN! Already 3 sigils have been released and the competition is going hard. I LOVE this kind of tie-in stuff. Reminds me of when Lost first came out, only its better, cos its more gamey.

I’m a bad blogger…. a very bad blogger…. I up and leave for a month n a half(thought it was longer than that actually…) with no explanation…. I *think* I can safely blame Twitter. It’s eaten up hours of my life… and I can’t understand why lol… but BOY does it feel good to be typing longer than 140 characters without it flashing up a red message! I’m so so so sorry…. I’ll make up for it… I will… I’ll watch lots of hentai and read lots of H-doujinshi! And it’ll all be better!!

Not only that… I’ve been a terrible otaku…. been keeping up with hardly any anime… I hate the internet at my uni….. cos torrents go SO SLOWLY….. means I either have to watch streams or download them *very* slowly…. which sucks ass… I haven’t even been keeping up with figure releases. I’m just glad I have figures preordered lol. Alter Yui, MF Nanoha Movie Figma, CM Corp Haruka, and another one I think…

What My Top 5 TV Shows Say

The guy who's succeeded in making me wanna pay full price for DVD's, the one, the only, JJ Abrams.

GAWD picking these were HARD. Bloody awful. Even only counting live action tv series, so discounting Futurama n stuff from the mix, didn’t help much. From a list I got down to 12. Picking  just 5 was evil… EVIL. I should do one for american, one for british stuff really. This list isn’t though, its a mix of all. In no order. Can’t pick a favourite, love em all for different reasons. (I had to leave out Friends!! And Grey’s Anatomy! And Scrubs! And so many awesome shows….

This list says… well I’m not sure… its a random mix of… well… scifi, slice of life/fantasy, backwards rom com, mystery/scifi/fantasy/mind-fuck and mancandy-fanservice/horror lol. You can read what you like from it. Its far to eccletic to make any sense out of lol. The full list might be easier to understand. All I know is that I love them. Again, for different reasons. Dr Who is like… a combo of childhood nostalgia combined with my favourite actor being in it for 3/4 years lol. Early Edition, nostalgia again, was a tv show I always remembered, always recalled, but didn’t remember the name and retain that information till early this year I believe. HIMYM is fluffy and lovely and cheeky and funny and LEGENDARY. Lost is just… well its Lost. Like marmite, you love it or you hate it, I’m of the former state of mind. Totally in love with the series, so much so I can barely see past its faults lol. And Supernatural. Only in the last year have I become a fan of this show, and boy do you become a fan. Total fangirl for it. TOTAL fangirl. Someone was right when saying some shows have viewers, some have fans, supernatural has the latter.

In the last week + Extra Loot

(Goddamn…. Why the hell didnt this post on the 2nd like it was meant to…?) I was meaning to post my Supernatural loot sooner than now, but I’ll do it with my other stuff, Hoi-hoi-san, mid-build Zaku, annnnnnd the yummy Tenka Taihei.

I got the body and head done, and my fingers were feeling so raw after threading the rings onto the tubes, I thought I'd call it a day and continue tomorrow.

The level of detail on this is crazy high! Sooo much better than my MG Gelgoog from 1997. This was released 2007, going by the box, a 10 year gap… seems so long ago…. Inside his chest sits Char, AND his chair-compartment-thing(Captain Scarlet style!) moves backwards and forwards on a little switch on his back, very discreet, theres two panels on the front that move up and down too. So much detail!!!!!!!

Head on.

I love that the bits on the side of the head, body and legs are on bendy tubes, tis beyond epic. And his eye moves! I think I’ve decided this Zaku’s a he. Some go one way, some go the other lol.

Hoihoi!!!!!!!!!

HOI HOI! She was a bitch to make lol. The hair… still a bit paranoid to pose her much due to the hair might pop out lol. She’s lovely. So cute. The feet joints could be a little more secure also. But otherall, super sweet kit. And would I get another? I think so!!!!!!!!!

I was a little apprehensive about trying this, last time I tried red bean curd I didn't like it much.

I won't lie, I bought it *mainly* because it looked like Taiyaki lol.

Ofc, when its half eaten, you can’t see it as much, but you can see the indentations lol. It was SUPER yummy. Way nicer than the last red bean paste/curd I had. The thin pancake layer coating the red bean paste, with a sweet chestnut paste filling in the middle. Not so big on the chestnut, but the red bean was YUMMY. I will definately be buying more next time I’m in London.

I know you guys won’t care about hot guys, but this(Supernatural) is our fanservice lol. All the comedy and chickflick moments(that Dean says he doesnt want, but always seems to start em haha.) The scary looking pendant in the middle is Deans pendant, comes into play in the 5th season. Cas has use for it. Still haven’t read slash fics, but I’m sure I’ll get to a point where the pull of Destial will be too strong LOL. Anyways, yeah, those are the badges n stuff I got from expo, lots of photos n stuff, but I already have on my computer lol.
