DCFL – Figure League Rules

Since making up my own rules would be horribly.. I suck at rule-making… I thought I’d use a combo of ISML’s and the Mascot Championship of the Neomag forum.

Continue below to see the full set of rules.

1. Candidate Requirements
A. The candidate must be a prepainted 1/8th or 1/7th scale figure(1/6th figures are more likely of trumping smaller scale figures due to having more detail lol), its not as restricting as you might think, cos there are only a certain number of 1/4th/1/5th figures out there, and this is a one-gal job at the moment, so I’m keeping it as simple as possible without losing any great figures.
B. No posable figures(i.e Figma or Revoltech are out), must be static figures. Exceptions are static figures with exchangable parts which might move.
C. No limits on where the figure originated from, it can be from eroge’s, anime, games, anywhere is fine. However its limited to figures from Japanese series.(I can’t think of any mega-awesome series which have figures released and arn’t from Japan… Since Kuro doesn’t have a figure out yet lol)
D. There is no age limit on the figure, so they can be years old, but they must already be/have been available on the market; no preorders.

2. Eligibility
Since there has never been a figure tournament before, or at least I haven’t run one before lol, there will be no limitations on who’s nominated, following the rules.

3. League Procedures
A. Nomination system

Voters are allowed to choose 6 figures to nominate. You allocate each of your choices a point value, 6,5,4,3,2 and 1. If you have less than 6 choices, ya can’t give the left over points to one of your choices. Once you’ve chosen your candidates/nominees, you can change your mind by leaving me a message somewhere. Only if you *really* wanna, but it’s probably best to just make sure who you pick is who you wanna stick with.

4. Round Procedures
Once I’ve counted up all the votes and found the 40 (eligable) figures with highest scores, I’ll split them into 4 groups, which you lot will then vote on.
A. Round 1 Voting
Each voter will get 5 scores to give out to your top 5 figures in each group. The points are as follows;
1. 8
2. 5
3. 3
4. 2
5. 1
You’ll dole out your points in each 4 of the groups, I’ll run each group for a certain length of time, totting up the score as people vote. The top 5 figures from each group with go through to round 2.
B. Round 2 Voting
This time you only get 4 scores to give out, and there are only 2 groups, 10 in each again.
1. 5
2. 3
3. 2
4. 1
Again, I’ll tot up the scores as we go. 8 with the lowest scores are out, leaving 12 to go onto the next round.
C. Round 3 Voting
Slightly different style of voting this time, 2 groups, 6 in each, 2 figures are pitted against each other. For example,  MF Haruhi vs GSC Hatsune Miku. You just vote for who you want to win out of each pair. Ya do this for each 6 pairs, 3 in one group, 3 in the other. 4 with the lowest scores are out, leaving 8.
D. Round 4 – Quater Finals
8 figures left, all one group this time. 4 pairings. Same as the 3rd round. 4 figures will be knocked out this round.
E. Round 5 – Semi Finals
4 figures left. 2 pairs. 2 votes. Almost over. Only 2 figures will go through.
F. Round 6 – Final round
This is the end. Just one choice in this round. The grand finale.

And thats it. Winner has been chosen. DC’s Winner has been chosen!!

    @M-chan: Hehe, same question…

    “P.S. Maybe I missed something. But how did u go from 6 figures in Round 3, to 8 figures in Round 4? Where did the other 2 figures come from?”

  2. xJAYMANx Says:

    @M-chan: Ahh, so in Round 3, even though there are 6 “winners”, the top 2 “losers” are added to complete the final 8. I get it now. ^_^

  3. xJAYMANx Says:

    @M-chan: I fixed your “1 to 1”, hehe.

    But same difference, different wording, lol. Because in Round 3, there are 6 “match-ups”. So in other words, 6 “winners”. But 2 of those so-called “losers” are still alive, since only the 4 worst “losers” are gone. Make sense?

  4. xJAYMANx Says:

    P.S. Oh wait, these “match-ups” have nothing to do with the points, do they?

  5. xJAYMANx Says:

    P.P.S. So there’s a weird situation here. Let’s say “Saber” beats “Rin” 20 to 12. And “Kagamin” beats “Tsukasa” 9 to 7. Then both “Kagamin” and “Tsukasa” get eliminated even though “Kagamin” won her match-up?

    Interesting. So do we nominate our figures on this post, or somewhere else?
