You may remember seeing my room at uni last year, if you don’t the recap/comparison is here. But last week, the 20th to be exact, I moved into my new living quarters for the next year. The room is WAY bigger than I thought it’d be lol.
Now when I arrived, it looked like this,
Dull right? Empty and sad feeling right? Not a home at all. By yesterday, it was transformed into this!!!
Teh Space Invader duvet cover ist back!!!!!!!!!
View straight on from my bed. What you can’t see in this pic is the other David Tennant poster on the slopey bit of wall. Heheheh. Gotta love the Command poster strips.

And it changes colour!!!! From red to purple to blue to green to yellowish and back to red! She looks best in bluey light. Red makes for fuzzy pictures aswell.
What can I see out of my Velux Roof window you ask?

Whats that I can see? An alternate dimension through my Velux roof window? OooooooOh, new hair length too. Bit longer than I originally wanted I think, maybe an inch or two more off.
And to the right. The pro’s of the roof window, people can’t see in. It’s well nigh impossible. Unless you’re in a helicoptor or something… strange coincidence that one was hovering around the area yesterday lol. Very noisey things.
So, overall, I love the new place. But I’m gonna make lists! Cos lists are fun! Things I love and things I dont love so much!
Things I love about my new place;
Living with my friends, clean friends who won’t mess up the kitchen EVER.
My window, its such a gimic for me, a window at an angle lol. It may lose some of its wonder after a while lol.
My HUGE room. Seriously. I’m totally getting me a beanbag!!!! lol.
The slopey ceilings and walls and stuff.
The fridge. Tis an epic fridge, HUGE for just 3 people. And brand spanking new. No icky stains from last years tennants.
Wheely chairs. Means I don’t have to bring mine like I was gonna do if they didnt have them! But they do! So I don’t have to! lol
Drawspace. Theres alot more. Same for the wardrobe I think, but thats not as well organised as the one at Grosvenor. No shelves in it. Means I have to get more hangers, or stick alot of my tshirts n stuff in the draws at my desk.
Things I don’t love as much;
The internet. We had a choice between two speeds, up to 512kbps for £50 OR up to 2mbps for £175. Complete ripoff cos I had up to 10mbps last year for £250. I’ll have to get used to it… but it really is a deal breaker, my roommates agree, it’s almost enough to make us reconsider staying next year…. It is unlimited though. Which is nicer than our limit at home. Though homes faster….
Not enough vertical wallspace for posters and wallscrolls. Lots of slopey walls is lovely and full of character, BUT its bad for wallscrolls. Which is why Lucy Maria Misora is on the outside of my door, hung with non-damaging Command hooks. Trekked all the way to Homebase for em…. got lost… was wandering for 2 hours before I found it…. feet ached sooooooooo much…
The rooms so big I don’t have enough things to fill it, make it homely. Theres this massive space at the end of my bed, I need shelves, and a beanbag. Or an inflatable sofa or SOMETHING to fill the void.
The pillar right in the way of my view to the TV from my bed… means no more tv in bed… which sucks, but if I remember correctly, last year, I watched more stuff on my laptop on a chair next to my bed lol, cos the TV was just a tad far away there too….
There was no hook on the back of my door. I’m used to hooks on doors, or next to doors. What I didnt think through before attaching a self adhesive hook to the door is that I coulda put Lucy there, and the hook next to the mirror. Silly fool I am. But its nice to see Lucy everytime I come back from being out. Bit scary at night though…. lol
It may seem that I had more bitching to do, but it was the internet rant mainly, and the lack of poster space, though I dunno what I’m worrying bout, since the Command strips stuck my Tennant posters very nicely to sloped surfaces, and should stay there. Might try ceiling too. Hehehe. The pros far outway the cons.
So thats it. What do you think? Mainly posted this stuff for my mum. But I like doing before and afters lol.

Nice room! And that glowing cube is seriously AWESOME. The best thing I’ve seen all day. Where did you get it? ^^

Shop called RED5 in the UK. Site is here. http://www.red5.co.uk/
And this is the cube itself. http://www.red5.co.uk/Mood-Cube-pr-187.html
The cubes are like the mathmos lights that change colour, and the Moodbeams, but Drossel can’t sit on moodbeams lol.

I love it!!! It doesn’t look cramped, and can see you have so much potential for posters >.< The wallscrolls though ;-; That's alright, because having one on your door is so awesome XD It's like "PREPARE YOURSELF." And you have all year to fill it up X3 That's actually a great size room since you're living with other people, here at Rutgers it's like they stuff you in these small spaces with up to 6 people and it's just ridiculous. You make me wanna post pics of my room again!!!
Good luck at the Uni this year hun, can't wait t hear of your adventures!

I love Roof floored rooms! Living in one has always been a dream. Mine would have a ceiling window so the sun/moonlight can shine in. *dreams on*

Lovely room you got there. But that column in the middle of the room looks awkward.
BTW, I love your Lucy poster…my fave from To Heart. ^^
Where did you get that glowing LED block? I’d love to get some to light up my space…hope it’s not too expensive. ^^;

Thankies, the column is kinda awkward, but I like having it lol. Can watch tv on my laptop, well, downloads lol.
Love my Lucy. I’m getting my GSC Lucy brought to me 2moro. I had a pick between Lucy or Yuki Kusakabe, and at that point, I didnt have any Yuki figures, nor did I like her much…. do now though lol. Still want a Chie one.
The LED block came from here http://www.red5.co.uk/Mood-Cube-pr-187.html £6 each or 3 for £10 in store one time, which is what I did, my little brother has one, and my parents have the other lol.
They’re like the mathmos lights, only they are expensive lol.

Woah, your room is awesome, even the outside of the door XD I like the posters and OMFG THE BEDSHEET. I NEED THAT BEDSHEET 8D
Those LED Cubes are pretty cheap! Can you choose the color or does it change automaticly? I wonder if they ship to Holland.. XD

Everyone loves the bedsheets.
And the cubes change automatically, so you gotta be quick with the camera if you want a certain colour lol. Timing is everything heheheh.

It’s been a while since I’ve stayed in a dorm room, but I’m jealous; my old room was a tiny piece of shit with nothing but a bed, a table and a basket for dirty laundry >_>

i want that piller in my room 😦 haha but the only way i will take it is if u leave the poster on – u may find it disappears hehe.
and damn i didn’t know that cube lite up, suppose i wasn’t really looking at the cube haha, our drossels still ain’t met each other to say ther twins haha

I never stayed in a dorm room before and this looks all new to me. What I do like is the view. Getting a view like that is pricey here and ur better off living in a house surrounded by neighbors.
